Course Overview
The Certified Scrum Product Owner course is an interactive two-day training course, accredited by
Scrum Alliance. It allows delegates to explore the role
of the Scrum Product Owner in detail. It covers the ways in which a Scrum Product Owner will interact with a Scrum
team, the responsibilities of the Scrum Product Owner and their responsibilities to the business and Scrum team.
Scrum is a simple yet incredibly powerful set of principles and practices that help teams
deliver products in short cycles, enabling fast feedback, continual improvement, and
rapid adaptation to change. As the leading Agile development framework, Scrum has
predominantly been used for software development, but it is also proving to be effective
in efforts far beyond.
Certification in Scrum is provided by the Scrum Alliance - a membership organization
that encourages and supports the widespread adoption and effective practice of Scrum.

Live online via Zoom with interactive tools like Miro and Beekast for an engaging experience.
What technical setup do I need for Virtual Classroom courses?
Reliable internet, webcam, microphone, and a computer or tablet.
Is there any pre-course reading?
Attendees are encouraged to review the Scrum Guide in advance; any additional pre-reading materials will be provided with the joining instructions.
Will I need to do any evening work during the course?
No evening work is required.
Is there an exam for CSPO certification?
No, there is no exam. To earn your CSPO certification, you must attend and actively participate in the full two-day Certified Scrum Product Owner course. Upon completion, your trainer will register you with Scrum Alliance, who will issue your certification.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, immediately after completing the course and accepting the Scrum Alliance License Agreement, you'll receive your official Scrum Alliance certificate and a digital badge.
What is the validity of the Scrum Alliance membership?
The membership is valid for two years from the date of certification.
Does the certification expire?
The certification itself does not expire; it is marked as "inactive" after two years if you choose not to renew your Scrum Alliance membership. An active certification is only an indication that you have continued your learning through continuing professional development activities, and there is still value in holding an inactive certification. Some individuals choose not to renew, and most employers will recognise an inactive certification when accompanied by relevant work experience.
Does obtaining further Scrum Alliance certification renew my existing certifications?
Yes! If you achieve a further Scrum Alliance certification, all of your existing certifications will be automatically renewed. These will remain active for two years from the date on which you achieved the new certification. No renewal fee is due, and you are also not required to evidence continuing professional development to benefit from this renewal.
What is required for renewal? What counts as continuing professional development?
Scrum Educational Units (SEUs) are required for renewal, with each SEU being equivalent to one hour of qualifying Scrum or Agile-related activity. There is a broad range of activities that qualify, including reading, attending webinars and further training, participating in discussion groups, writing articles, attending events or conferences, and more. The number of SEUs required is related to the highest level of certification that you hold. For CSM/CSPO, 20 SEUs are required. For ACSM and ACSPO, 30 SEUs are required. For CSP-SM and CSP-PO, 40 SEUs are required.
Can I book this for my team or in-house?
Yes, we offer private training solutions tailored to your organisation. Please contact us for more information.
