What is it? Why do I need it? How do I get it?

BCS Professional Certification for Business Analysts (Formerly ISEB Certification)

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, is the leading institute for IT professionals around the world. BCS Professional Certification offers internationally recognised qualifications, including a range of business analyst certifications.

What is the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis?

The BCS Diploma in Business Analysis (formerly the ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis) is an international qualification that recognises individuals with the knowledge, skills and capability to be effective Business Analysts.

To be awarded the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, you must complete: two Core modules, one Knowledge-Based specialism, and one Practitioner specialism from the BCS Professional Certification Portfolio, followed by an Oral Examination covering all four modules.

Studying for your BCS Business Analysis Diploma with TCC

TCC has been helping candidates to gain the BCS Business Analysis Diploma since it was first introduced in 2002 (we were one of the founders, who worked with the BCS to develop the scheme).

This expertise has allowed us to develop our unique portfolio of business analysis training courses to help both private individuals and large corporate teams, to improve their business analysis skills. Our trainers are practicing Business Analysts, and in many cases, are BCS examiners themselves. We believe these are just some of the reasons why our delegates leave us such positive reviews at the end of every course.

So, why not get started on your way to a recognised BCS qualification with us today!

Step 1 - Complete four BCS Business Analysis training courses

Our BCS Business Analysis training courses are aligned to the Diploma modules and, as an Accredited Examination Provider, we provide examination sessions on the final day of each course.

You can choose to complete these courses in any sequence, at your own pace, and to suit your budget. However, we would recommend starting with the core modules, Business Analysis Practice and Requirements Engineering.

You are required to complete 2 Core Modules:

BCS Business Analysis Practice
BCS Requirements Engineering

+ 1 Knowledge-Based Specialism

BCS Commercial Awareness

+ 1 Practitioner Specialism

BCS Modelling Business Processes
BCS Systems Development Essentials (In-House Only)
BCS Systems Modelling Techniques (In-House Only)

Step 2 - Attend our BCS Oral Exam Preparation Day (Optional)

At TCC, we offer all of our candidates the opportunity to attend a BCS Oral Exam Preparation Day.

It provides the opportunity for revision, with an experienced trainer who will ensure that you know exactly what to expect.

Step 3 - Sit the BCS Oral Exam; gain your BCS Diploma in Business Analysis

Once you have the four BCS certificates, you can register with the BCS to sit the oral examination - leading to the award of the Diploma in Business Analysis. The exam consists of a 50 minute face-to-face interview, with two examiners. If you have attended TCC's BCS Oral Exam Preparation Day, you will already be familiar with the style of assessment.

The BCS organises public examinations at the following locations:

  • BCS, The Davidson Building, 5 Southampton Street, London, WC2E 7HA
  • BCS, North Star House, North Star Avenue, Swindon, SN2 1FA
  • Edinburgh Training and Conference Venue, 16 St Mary's Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1SU

To check availability and book online, or for further information, please visit the BCS website.

Please note: For organisations with a number of candidates to put forward for the Diploma in Business Analysis, we can arrange for oral examinations to be run at your office, or a venue of your choice.
