International Institute Of Business Analysis (IIBA) Appoints TCC Director To The Board

Date: Thursday, August 30, 2012

TCC - a specialist business analysis training provider - is proud to announce that one of its Directors, Dot Tudor, has been appointed as a member of the board for the UK Chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is an independent non-profit professional association representing the discipline of business analysis. Established in 2003, the IIBA aims to promote greater awareness of business analysis and support those in the profession.

A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems.

The IIBA works to develop and maintain standards for the practice of business analysis. This collection of information is held in the publication "A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK Guide)". It assembles business analysis knowledge that reflects current best practice within the profession.

The IIBA also offers business analysis certification for professionals, including:

  • Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)

Candidates holding the IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) qualification can apply for exemption from the Requirements Engineering module and the Knowledge-based specialist module of the BCS Business Analysis Diploma.

Members of the community based professional association receive a range of benefits, including access to an Online Library of over 300 books, community forums, webinars, discount on IIBA certification exams, and other valuable resources.

The UK Chapter of the IIBA relies on a group of volunteers, including the Board of Directors. Its aim is to share best practice, increase professionalism and raise the profile of the business analyst in the UK.

Dot Tudor, along with Iain Gillespie, Andrew Turner and Nick De Voil, will join the existing board of Joseph da Silva, Adrian Reed, Sarah Fitton and David Avis.

This prestigious appointment recognises Dot's expertise and contribution to the business analysis community, as well as her experience as a board member of other membership based organisations: the British Computer Society (BCS), the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN) and the DSDM Consortium.

As Business Development Director, she will be responsible for enhancing the profile of the IIBA in the UK and working to create and improve partnerships with other professional organisations.

Dot Tudor of TCC, comments: "I am really excited to be joining the team at the IIBA UK chapter. The IIBA has an important role in improving the understanding of the BA profession in today's changing world".

TCC is an international business analysis training and consultancy provider, offering a range of courses leading to the BCS Diploma in Business Analysis, formerly the ISEB Business Analysis Diploma.

Thousands of professionals have gained business analysis qualifications with TCC. The position at the IIBA is a mark of continued commitment to the development of the business analysis community, and to the support of business analysts throughout the UK and overseas.
