FAQs

Are there any pre-requisites for completing this course?
No formal prerequisites are required to take the APM PMQ course. However, the qualification is designed for those with some prior experience or understanding of project management.
Can I do PMQ without PFQ?
Yes, you can take the PMQ without completing the PFQ first, as the PFQ is not a prerequisite for the PMQ. However, the most suitable course for you depends on your level of experience:
  • APM PFQ is designed for individuals with little to no experience in project management.
  • APM PMQ is better suited to professionals who already have a couple of years of project management experience.
Is there any pre-course reading?
Yes, delegates will be provided with access to e-learning modules on key topics which delegates are advised to complete before the classroom training. This should take approximately 6 – 7 hours.
Will I need to do any homework during the course?
Yes. Delegates should expect to complete 2–3 practice exam questions after each classroom session to reinforce learning and prepare for the final assessment.
Is there an examination included with this course?
Yes. The exam is included in your course fee and is taken online after training. It is a 2.5-hour, 40 question exam with a total of 90 marks. The pass mark varies per paper, determined by the angoff method. The exam is closed-book and you will receive your results within 8 weeks. The exam is split into two parts, separated by an optional break of 30 minutes.
What question types are contained within the exam?
You can expect the following question types:
  • Multiple response (20 questions worth 1 mark each)
  • Select from list (5 questions worth 2 marks each)
  • Short response (5 questions worth 2 marks each)
  • Long response (10 questions worth 5 marks each)
Does the PMQ qualification ever expire?
No, the PMQ qualification does not expire. Once earned, it remains valid forever.
