Paul is an experienced Agile coach and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) with the Scrum Alliance. He is a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) and Certified Scrum Professional – ScrumMaster (CSP-SM). Before moving into Agile, Paul spent over twenty years working in the fintech industry as a software developer and manager within traditional project management and Waterfall environments, giving him practical insight into both conventional and Agile ways of working.
Paul began his Agile journey during an organisational transformation at Aquila Heywood, where he became a Scrum Master supporting multiple teams and helping to introduce Agile practices across the business. He later moved into Agile coaching, working with teams and departments to support wider organisational change.
Paul is known for his interactive and engaging training style, using stories, visual techniques and practical exercises to help learners understand not only how Scrum works, but why it works. His aim is to ensure that participants leave his courses with the confidence to gain certification and the practical understanding needed to apply Scrum immediately in their own organisations.
Paul is an active member of the Agile community. He regularly writes articles on Agile and ways of working for online publications and magazines, sharing practical insights and perspectives drawn from his experience helping teams and organisations improve the way they work.
